Mill Road has always been more than just a street. It’s a community - full of energy, colour, and stories that stretch across generations. From long-standing family businesses to new ventures bringing fresh ideas, every trader adds something special to this part of Cambridge.
The Mill Road Traders Association (MRTA) exists to support, connect, and celebrate those who make Mill Road what it is. We’re a collective of traders, community groups, and partners working together to keep our street thriving - for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
Our mission is simple:
Working together for a thriving Mill Road - supporting local traders, welcoming visitors, and creating a vibrant community for everyone who calls this place home.
The Association brings traders together to share knowledge, coordinate events, and make sure the Mill Road area continues to grow in ways that benefit everyone. Whether it’s collaborating on local projects, promoting members through shared marketing, or representing the interests of the street with the City Council and local partners — the MRTA gives traders a unified voice.
Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing updates on community projects, new member spotlights, and stories from across the Mill Road area. You’ll also see new initiatives taking shape — from digital improvements to on-street activities designed to increase footfall and strengthen the local economy.
Mill Road is a street like no other, and we’re proud to be part of a community that values connection, creativity, and collaboration. If you’re a local trader or organisation based in the Mill Road catchment area, we’d love to welcome you to the Association. Together, we can make sure Mill Road continues to thrive.
